Why choose a CDS professional
Engaging a specialist kitchen and/or bathroom designer is an essential step towards a successful renovation or new building project. When deciding on materials, appliances, fittings, styles, finishes, layout and function, the up-to-date knowledge and well-honed skills of a professional designer will prove invaluable. Working with your personal needs, a Certified Designer will design the most functional and aesthetically pleasing arrangement for your space.
Certified Designers must meet pre-qualifying criteria to become part of the society, and this criterion is what sets them up for excellence in the industry. The CDS encourages all designers to complete qualifications such as Certified Kitchen or Bathroom Designer (CKDNZ/CBDNZ), the Diploma in Kitchen or Bathroom Design (Dip.Kit.Des / Dip.Bath.Des), the Certificate in Kitchen or Bathroom Design (Cert.Kit.Des / Cert.Bath.Des). A Masters Certificate is also available to CKDNZ or CBDNZ designers who have attained 10 years overall concurrent industry experience since their certification, and being awarded a Masters Certificate recognizes industry professionals for their achievement and dedication to continuing education.
Alongside having met the criteria to become a Certified Kitchen or Bathroom Designer by having a minimum of four years industry experience, CDS supports designers who are committed to their industry and on-going professional development about newest available products, design solutions, building regulations and design trends. You can be confident that CDS will direct you to the industry leaders, and we’re building a comprehensive directory of New Zealand’s finest designers.
